About the Role
Location: Los Angeles / Hybrid
The majority of our team is based in London, however you’ll primarily work with our Head of Buying (based in Santa Monica) and our US brand partners. We’re mostly remote, but the LA team works from our Venice co-working space about 10 days per month.
As the Assistant Buyer, you’ll work directly with our Head of Buying on ensuring we’re stocking the greatest selection of brands. We pride ourselves on our curation process - and it's foundational to our business. We've become beloved in the UK for the trust our customers have with our product selection, and as the Assistant Buyer, you'll be directly responsible for making this happen.
The ideal candidate for this role is at the forefront of everything health & wellness and obsessed with their personal wellbeing. You'll help us discover new brands to stock, and then be responsible for driving that partnership. The ideal candidate feels confident in a sales position, and is excited by the opportunity to directly fuel our growth. If you have an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for wellness cpg, this role may be a strong fit for you.
The main objectives of this role are:
1) Brand Discovery - Identify high-quality brands aligned with our values that also have a large commercial opportunity
- Be in the know of upcoming trends
- Leverage technology to spot new opportunities
- See what's showing up in the US retailers, podcasts, events, etc.
- Be obsessed with all things wellness, and have an understanding of what's cool in the space. We look for quality, innovation, beautiful design, and brands who are in-touch with consumer demands.
2) Brand Outreach - Outreach to the best contact on these teams to discuss a partnership with Healf
- Strong written outreach on LinkedIn and email
- Attending networking events, coffee meetups, host events, and cultivate relationships within the wellness & cpg community to get introductions to new partners
- Ongoing follow ups with potential new leads
- You'll be responsible for ensuring a high conversion rate, taking brands from a lead stage to a final partnership
3) Sales - Managing correspondence with potential brand partners until they’ve successfully launched on the Healf platform!
- Develop killer sales tactics to ensure high close rate for new brands post-call
- Onboard new brands by negotiating margin, preparing agreements when necessary, deciding the opening SKU assortment and managing brand communications until passed off to the next team

- High level of organization. As the Assistant Buyer, you’ll be the foundation of our Buying team. We're managing a lot of moving parts, and we'll rely on your organizational skill to move swiftly.
- Strong written communication skills. Strong emails + cold outreach sets you up for success in this position. You should feel very confident with your ability to write compelling messages that spark curiosity.
- Strong verbal communication skills. You identify as a people-person. You love engaging with new people, and developing meaningful, mutually-beneficial partnerships.
- Background in sales and partnerships. You've got the skills to be a great salesperson. You're curious, engaging, and can think fast on the fly. You're probably a little competitive, and are highly driven to succeed. You think creatively when it comes to how to make a deal happen, and never settle. You're excited by the idea of a partially commission based position, because you know that you have unlimited upside and control over your success.

Compensation
The estimated range for this role is between $75,000-$105,000, but has unlimited upside. You'll have a base salary + commission, so the more results that you drive, the more room to earn. We reward impact.
